QR code quick start guide for Apple iOS and Android

What is a QR code?

QR code is an abbreviation for Quick Response code. A QR code is a machine-readable optical label that contains data. A QR code consists of black squares arranged in a square grid on a white background, which can be read by an imaging device such as a camera.

Qr codes can be used for many different purposes which includes sharing contact information, sharing social media profiles, sharing a location to a favorite place or even sharing a digital currency wallet address.

How to use the card's QR code on an Apple iOS devices?

  1. Open the Settings app, and tap Camera.

  2. Make sure Scan QR codes is toggled on.

  3. Open the native Camera app.

  4. Hold your phone over the QR code so that it’s centered in the frame.

  5. A banner notification will pop down. It will tell you to open the Contacts App.

  6. Tap on the notification.

  7. After the contact information shows click the “Save” button save the contact information.

How to use the card's QR code on an Android?

It is recommended to use a third party QR code scanning app for Android devices.

From the Home screen on the Android device, launch the Play Store app.

  1. Search for and download the Norton Snap app.

    When the download finishes, the installation starts automatically.

  2. Tap Install to confirm.

  3. When the installation finishes, tap Open to start Norton Snap.

  4. Tap Agree & Launch.

    To read the User license agreement, tap User License Agreement.

  5. Tap Done.

  6. Focus the mobile device camera towards the QR Code that you wish to scan.

    Norton Snap uses the auto-focus function of the camera to capture the images, and analyzes it until it finds a valid QR Code. When a valid code is found, it displays the QR Code image and generates a beep or vibrate the device.

  7. After the contact information shows click the “Save” button save the contact information.
